The Bobbie Watkins Odom Food Bank was started in 1999 with the idea of helping neighbors in need of food.
In the years since, the pantry has expanded and is supported by local churches and businesses. We are always in need of donations to keep the pantry open and stocked.
We help an average of 145 families each month with food. We are members of the North Alabama Food Bank and purchase most of our food from them. This limits the variety of food items we are able to distribute, so there is always a need for certain items.
If you would like to donate to the food pantry, we accept food and monetary donations. Food items that are most needed are Breakfast Items- boxed cereals, oatmeal, grits, cream of wheat. Canned meat: Chicken, tuna, potted meats, Vienna sausages, canned ham, beef and pork. Soups and Pasta of all types ( Mac and Cheese, spaghetti noodles, shells, flat noodles) , Rice and dried beans ( especially pintos)
